Terms of use

1. What this service is

Karaoke StarSinger takes an audio or video file that you upload and returns a karaoke version of it: the vocal separated from the instrumental, the lyrics written with the timing of every syllable, and the pitch of every note. Nothing else.

2. The files you upload

You confirm you have the right to use what you upload — because it is yours, because you bought it, or because the law allows the use you intend. Private use of a copy you own is not the same as public performance; that is on you, not on us.

• Do not upload illegal content, or someone else's content without permission.
• Do not use the account to distribute the result as if it were a catalogue.
• We may remove files and close accounts in cases of clear abuse.

3. Your account

One person per account. Keep your password — whoever has it gets in. If you suspect someone else got access, change it: changing the password ends every open session, including theirs.

4. Quota and limits

Each plan has a limit of songs per month and of disk space. The limits show up in your account and exist for a practical reason: separating vocals from instrumentals is expensive to compute, and without a limit a single account would take the service down for everyone else.

5. Payment, renewal and cancellation

The paid plan is billed monthly, always on the same day, and renews on its own until you cancel. No lock-in, no cancellation fee.

To cancel: in My account you open the billing portal and cancel in one click. Cancellation applies to the next cycle — you keep the paid plan until the end of the period you already paid for, then the account returns to the free plan. Your library stays.

Cooling-off period: if you subscribed online, you have 14 days from signing up to change your mind and get a full refund, no reason needed. Just ask within that window.

After that window: we don't refund a month already used. If the service is unavailable for a long stretch, or if we charge you something wrong, we refund it — that isn't a favour, it's our obligation.

Price: if the price changes, the new amount only applies to future charges, and we tell you by email beforehand.

6. No guarantee of a perfect result

Vocal separation, lyric transcription and note detection are done by machine. They get things wrong. Songs with heavy reverb, choirs, muffled vocals or poor recording come out worse. The service is provided as is — we promise no specific accuracy.

7. Outages

We may go offline for maintenance or because of a failure. We give notice when notice is possible. If you pay and the service stays unavailable for a long stretch, talk to us.

8. Closing your account

You can delete the account whenever you like. When you do, your files and your library go with it, and there is no undo.

9. Changes to these terms

If we change anything material, the date at the top changes and we tell you by email.

10. Your responsibility and ours

You are responsible for what you upload and for having the right to use it (item 2). On our side, we answer for what the law requires — but, to the extent the law allows, our liability for losses is limited to the amount you paid in the 12 months before the problem, and we are not liable for indirect damages (such as lost profit). Nothing here removes your consumer rights.

11. Age

To hold an account and subscribe you must be 18 or older, or use the service with a guardian's permission and supervision.

12. Law and where to settle

These terms follow Brazilian law. If a dispute can't be solved by talking, the court of your own domicile applies — the consumer's, as Brazil's Consumer Code guarantees.
